The birds of the Tenorio Lodge Costa Rica hosts over 850 bird species (about 600 permanent residents) and attracts birdwatcher from all around the world. There are 876 species, 64 families, 6 endemic, 64 endemic shared with neighboring Panama, 16 of 21 families from Central America. This diversity is explained by a particular geography of Costa Rica which offers an impressive variety of habitats, associated with the presence of two coasts (Atlantic and Pacific) and mountain ranges covering over half the country.
